It's been just about two months since I wrote anything.
WHOOPSIES.
Remember that one time I said when I don't post it's because things are rapidly changing in my life and I don't know what to do?
Yeah so that happened again.
Things to know:
1) I'm back in Chicago.
2) I have a roommate.
3) I'm single.
4) I HAVE A REAL LIFE FULL TIME JOB!
How did this all happen? Welllllll let me tell you!
So as everyone knows I moved back in with my parents at the end of September after royally getting my ass kicked my Chicago. I had been planning on moving to Seattle with some good friends, but I did not end up moving because I'm a mess and moving that far from my family was actually a bit more daunting than I had realized. My baby sister just started high school and the only time I see the middle one is when she comes home on breaks from Missouri.
Also having my parents nearby is great when I have a life crisis. Which happens often.
Alright, at this point I'm not moving to Seattle, I'm back home with my parents, working 30 hours a week at my beloved Rogan's, and cranky. Luckily for me, a girl in my sorority posted in our facebook group that she was looking for someone to move to Chicago with because she's commuting to school in the city from the 'burbs and as we all have learned, METRA IS A SOUL-SUCKING TRAP VOID OF HOPES AND DREAMS. I don't know this girl very well but we graduated together and she's always seemed pretty chill and I hate the suburbs so I message her. I let her know that I'm poor and I can't move until November (this part of the story is happening in late September). A few more messages and BOOM we're roommates. Sweet deal, right?
So we go apartment hunting and after a few sketchy apartments we hit up Craigslist and find this kick ass two bedroom apartment in Wicker Park that we can totally (mostly) afford. Sign the lease. Move in November 1st. Get along marvelously. That's the story behind numbers one and two!
Why am I single? Well, to make a long story short, commitmentphobes are apparently my jam. Good news is that this is seemingly the least messy breakup I've ever had because we are still actually friends and I still like his friends and I'm pretty certain they consider me a friend so that's cool. Run-on sentences are cool too.
Postgrad relationship record: 5 months
I HAVE A JOB A FULL TIME JOB A GLORIOUS JOB I'M SO PUMPED ABOUT.
I'm going to be a receptionist at The Drybar. Google it. Look up the website.
Yes, do that. Look up the website and watch all the videos. Then you'll understand why I belong. www.thedrybar.com !
Bonus: It's a brand new shop opening in December. The first in Chicago! It's also right down the street from my new apartment. It's perfect.
Sometimes, the universe gives you a break.
